Mercedes Seat Restoration: Bringing Worn Leather Back to Life
A worn leather seat can make an otherwise beautiful Mercedes interior feel tired. Discolouration, surface wear and visible creasing develop gradually, especially on the seat cushion and side bolsters that receive the most daily contact.
For this project at Fixtrim, we carefully restored a cream-coloured Mercedes seat, bringing back a cleaner, more even finish and an appearance that was almost like new.

Before: Visible Wear and Uneven Colour
The original seat showed noticeable wear across the cushion, backrest and outer bolsters. The light colour made darker marks and worn areas particularly visible, while surface creasing added to its aged appearance.
Our goal was to refresh the existing upholstery while preserving the seat’s original shape, stitching and character.

A Careful Restoration, Step by Step
A successful restoration takes more than applying colour. Careful preparation makes the difference between simply covering worn areas and achieving a smooth, natural-looking finish.
We began by thoroughly cleaning and degreasing the surface to remove accumulated dirt, oils and residue. This preparation helps the restoration products adhere properly.
Next, we carefully prepared the worn areas, smoothing rough sections and addressing surface imperfections where needed. Particular attention went to the side bolsters and cushion, where the wear was most noticeable.
With the surface prepared, we matched the colour to the seat’s original cream tone. Applying the colour in thin, controlled layers helped create an even finish while keeping the stitching and upholstery details clearly defined.
The final step was a protective top coat to complete the finish and help protect the restored surface from everyday use.
After: A Brighter, Refreshed Mercedes Interior
The before-and-after photos show the transformation. The cushion has a much more uniform colour, the backrest looks cleaner, and the worn bolsters blend naturally with the rest of the seat.
Some natural creasing remains, as you would expect with existing upholstery. The aim is to restore its appearance while retaining the character of the original seat—and in this case, the result makes a striking difference to the whole interior.
Can Your Mercedes Seat Be Restored?
If your seat has faded colour, scuffs or surface wear, restoration may be an option worth considering before replacing the upholstery. Tears, deep damage or weakened material may require a different approach, so we assess each project individually.
At Fixtrim, we provide leather and vinyl repair and restoration for clients in Montreal, Laval and the South Shore.
